Steel Pipes and Tubes - Jindal Star

Steel tubes and steel pipes are made of an alloy of iron, carbon and other elements. Steel tubes and pipes are used in the machine and construction industry, but they also can be found in other manufacturing and industrial applications. In tubular systems, steel pipes and tubes are used to transport fluids and gases for commercial and residential buildings. From the production technology point of view, we recognize rolled seamless tubes and pipes and precision drawn seamless tubes and pipes.

Black Steel Pipes are cut & threaded to fit the job. Fittings for this type of pipes are of Black Malleable Cast Iron. They connect by screwing onto the threaded pipe, after applying a small amount of pipe joint compound on the threads. Larger diameter pipes are welded rather than threaded. Black steel pipe, is cut either with a heavy duty tube cutter or cutoff saw.

When steel pipe is forged, a black oxide scale forms on its surface to give it the finish which is seen on this type of pipe. Because steel is subject to rust and corrosion, the manufacturer also coats it with protective oil. Those black steel are used for manufacturing pipe and tube, which will not rust for a long time and requires very little maintenance. It is sold in standard 21-foot lengths TBE.
